The 1st Philippine Clean Energy Summit
The 1st Philippine Clean Energy Summit, held in collaboration with APBest and PE2 on October 13, 2016, addressed key issues in the energy sector. Participants discussed the role of renewable energy and energy efficiency in guiding the country towards a low-carbon future, ensuring affordable and reliable energy, and meeting rising demand while complying with climate agreements. The summit also explored market and policy gaps hindering renewable energy investments and identified innovative technologies and reforms for sustainable economic growth. Attendees included leaders, officials, executives, experts, and stakeholders, aiming to foster greater energy independence and quality of life in the Philippines.
The Philippines, facing a growing need for energy amid the depletion of its indigenous fuel source, the Malampaya gas field, has emphasized the importance of large-scale LNG infrastructure projects. The 2nd LNG & Clean Energy Investment Summit, held virtually on March 23, 2021, brought together over 200 industry leaders to discuss the expansion of LNG and clean energy industries in the country.
Revisiting The 1987 Constitution of the Philippines The 1st National Forum and Public Consultation
The Alpha Phi Beta Fraternity, in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Bar Association and the Asia-Pacific Basin for Energy Strategies, hosted the “Revisiting the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines: The 1st National Forum and Public Consultation” (1NFPC) at the Centennial Hall of the Manila Hotel. Former Chief Justice and Chairperson of the Consultative Committee to Review the 1987 Constitution, Reynato S. Puno ’59, delivered the keynote address. Joining him were esteemed speakers such as Justice Adolfo Azcuna, former Senators Jose Lina Jr. and Heherson Alvarez, Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez, and others who shared insights in their respective fields. The event gathered over 200 participants from various sectors, providing a platform for the exchange of ideas and consultation on the proposed charter revisions before its submission to President Rodrigo Duterte in July.
The 1st Global Forum on Infrastructure Strategies was held on January 18, 2018, at the Grand Sunset Pavilion, Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Hosted by APBEST and organized by PCM Event Management and The Pinnacle Group International, the forum aimed to showcase the Philippines’ “Build Build Build” program for economic growth through infrastructure development. Over 300 stakeholders from various sectors attended, including government officials, infrastructure developers, and investors, exchanging perspectives and insights.
